This area is jam-packed full of Lego, Straws and K'Nex ready to build and test your own inventions. Design your own masterpiece and watch it come to life.

Try your hands at the specialised trades undertaken by thousands of past railway workers. Learn how to build a wagon, then take it to the testing area to see how it performs. Try out your plumbing skills by creating plumbing for a steam train at our plumbing station.
Make and decorate your own toolbox to take home. Did you know that each wagon or carriage builder had their very own toolbox? You can view Henry Hyde’s toolbox during your visit in the museum. Limited stocks available.
A unique feature on every locomotive is the builder's plate! Explore builder's plates from the collection and create your own to take home.
