"To create a general public informed by science, inspired by its wonder, convinced of its value, and prepared to engage with its implications for the future."
– World Science Festival Mission
Since 2016, Queensland Museum Network has presented World Science Festival Brisbane – the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere outside of New York, attracting more than 1 million attendances since its inception.
World Science Festival Brisbane is delivered annually, taking science to the streets, parks, museum, galleries and performing arts venues of Brisbane, attracting over one million visitors since its inception.
World Science Festival Brisbane has become part of Queensland Museum Network’s identity, reinforcing the museum’s position as a leader in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and engagement.
Since 2019, Curiocity Brisbane has been integrated with World Science Festival Brisbane, engaging audiences with dynamic public art, conversations, tours and workshops that explore the connectedness of art, science, and technology.
Each year the festival is delivered to regional Queensland throughout the calendar year under the banner of World Science Festival Queensland, travelling to Chinchilla, Gladstone, Ipswich, Townsville, and Toowoomba.
