Aunty Barb Walker is a senior Wiradjuri woman from Wagga Wagga, NSW, now living in
Pittsworth, Queensland on Giabal Country. A retired midwife who worked across most
states and territories in Australia, Barb now shares her culture through weaving and
language, holding Certificates I, II and III in Wiradjuri Language.
Barb teaches Wiradjuri Wadya Waybarra (coiling weaving), using raffia she dyes herself
with fruits, plants and natural colourings. She regularly runs workshops for children
and adults across the region and enjoys seeing participants continue weaving and sharing
what they create.
