Hanging Basket Display
Step into a vibrant celebration of community as more than 50 hanging baskets line the museum Showring, bringing the space to life in a flourish of colour. Created by local groups, schools and passionate individuals, each display showcases creativity in full bloom. A brand-new competition category adds a fresh twist in 2026.
Vote for your favourite in the People’s Choice Award and join us for a special twilight viewing on Friday 18 September from 4pm.

Expressions of Interest now open
Create a standout hanging basket inspired by ‘Spring Adventures’ and see it on display at the museum during the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers (18 September – 5 October).
- Open to individuals, community groups, early learning centres and schools. New in 2026: a Non-living Basket category for creative floral designs.
- Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category, plus the People’s Choice Award.
- Successful participants receive a hanging basket, potting mix and fertiliser, generously provided by Yates.
- Expressions of interest close Thursday 28 May 2026.
