In this one-day workshop, participants will learn about wood selection, design for function, durability and experience using spokeshaves and scorps to craft your own wooden spoon.

Meet your tutor

Artisan David Harriman has been self-employed in his woodcrafting business for over 30 years. David blends modern technology with old-world skill and has crafted hundreds of wooden vessels, wheels, and carved creations over the years. He uses an extensive range of timbers in his creations including bush, recycled and plantation timbers. He has been teaching woodcrafting workshops since 2017, and has won numerous awards at shows, exhibitions, and expos for his creative woodwork, with some featuring carvings of Australian flora and fauna.

All our Hands-on Workshops have a limited number of participants to ensure you receive all the assistance and direction you require.

Spectators are welcome at all workshops.
