In this one-day workshop, learn the timeless craft of spoon carving with artisan David Harriman.
Using traditional hand tools, you’ll design and carve your own wooden spoon while learning timber selection, tool safety, and design techniques. David will share practical tips and guidance throughout, giving you the skills and confidence to continue creating at home.
Artisan David Harriman has been self-employed in his woodcrafting business for over 30 years. David blends modern technology with old-world skill and has crafted hundreds of wooden vessels, wheels, and carved creations over the years. He uses an extensive range of timbers in his creations including bush, recycled and plantation timbers. He has been teaching woodcrafting workshops since 2017, and has won numerous awards at shows, exhibitions, and expos for his creative woodwork, with some featuring carvings of Australian flora and fauna.
