Dr Jo Wills is part of the Queensland Museum's Museum Development Officer (MDO) Program and based in Cairns, Queensland.
Jo works with communities to build their confidence in managing museums, explore the potential and meaning of their collections, and safeguard them for the future. She has a fascination with the history of the cane industry and tourism, migration stories and, since becoming a Museum Development Officer (MDO), has developed an interest in Torres Strait Islander and Cape York culture.
Jo has worked in curatorial roles that focus on community engagement collaborating with museums around the country including Museum Victoria, National Library of Australia, National Archives of Australia and the state libraries of NSW and Victoria.
