Learn how to design and fabricate textured jewellery using recycled metals under the guide of Silversmith Jemica Ostrofski.
Explore the basic metalsmithing techniques of mark-making using various hammers, letter stamps, number stamps and other tools. Students will choose to make either a pair of earrings, a ring, necklace or keychain.
Jemica Ostrofski draws inspiration from fashion design, costume jewellery and urban geometric form. Her goal is to create individually hand-crafted pieces that tell a story, using traditional silversmithing techniques such as hand sawing, soldering and metal texturing. Adopting an ethically responsible and environmentally friendly practice, she uses recycled, found and repurposed metals in her workshops.
