Bring your school to Have Another Look Captain Cook! and participate in Queensland Museum Cobb+Co’s annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

Event overview

Schools are invited to participate in Queensland Museum Cobb+Co’s annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

Celebrate the history and culture of the First Australians through a full day of activities, including story telling, hands on activities and demonstrations - all the things Cook did not see when he came here in 1770.

Activities include:

  • Groups join together each morning for a Welcome and Smoking Ceremony
  • Murri connection to Country - tucker, medicines, tools and weapons
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artefacts and gallery
  • Boomerang and spear throwing
  • First Nations weaving
  • First Nations art and symbolism
  • Groups join together at lunch for a talk, song and dance with a First Nations performer

* Monday's program starts at 9:15am as this is the Official Opening.
