Join us for National Reconciliation Week at the museum. Reflect, learn and celebrate First Nations culture under the theme Bridging Now to Next.

Contribute to our Reconciliation Tree

Monday 26 May - Friday 30 May
10am - 12:30pm daily

Take part in a meaningful, hands-on activity by designing and painting your own reconciliation leaf to add to our growing community tree. Contribute your own leaf, sharing personal stories and perspectives through art. Have a yarn with nationally renowned senior Aboriginal artist Cheryl Moggs, elder, cultural leader, artist, teacher, designer, weaver, and descendant of the Bigambul people of Goondiwindi, Southwest Queensland.

Guided tours of The Binangar Centre

Monday 26 May - Friday 30 May 2025
Monday 2 June and Tuesday 3 June

Join a guided tour of The Binangar Centre to explore the rich culture, history and stories of the local Aboriginal community. Led by knowledgeable guides, these tours offer a deeper understanding of First Nations Perspectives through objects, language, and lived experiences. 

Little Cobbers

Our youngest visitors (under 5) can enjoy a First Nations storytime and take part in the reconciliation leaf activity designed especially for little hands. A beautiful way to spark early conversations about respect, culture, and community. Join senior Aboriginal artist Cheryl Moggs, elder, cultural leader, artist, teacher, designer, weaver, and descendant of the Bigambul people of Goondiwindi, Southwest Queensland.
