Discover the art of traditional letterpress printing in this social afternoon experience at the museum. Explore the beauty of vintage type, laser-engraved printing plates, and hand-carved relief blocks while surrounded by historic locomotives and working machinery. Guided by skilled facilitators, you’ll have the chance to create your own unique prints and connect with the stories behind this timeless craft.
For six weeks only, Moveable Type Studio, a mobile printmaking space built inside a converted 40-foot shipping container, is pulling into the station. This isn’t your average art workshop – this is where heritage, creativity and engineering collide.
Whether you're a curious beginner or a creative soul looking for something new, this is your chance to roll up your sleeves, pull a print, and enjoy a cup of tea. It’s hands-on, social, and completely unique. You'll leave with your own original print as a keepsake.
Bookings are essential and spaces are limited.
A light afternoon tea is included in the ticket price.
