Once known as the Trackside Café, The Dining Hall’s name pays homage to its rich past as a vital part of the Rail Workshops. Originally opened in 1912, this space served as the heart of the Workshops, providing workers with three-course lunches five days a week. At its peak, up to 1000 meals a day were served, keeping the workforce fueled in an era when the Workshops were bustling with activity.
Today, the Dining Hall invites you to enjoy a unique blend of history and comfort, with a modern twist. Relax, savor a cup of MERLO coffee, and take in the ambiance of this iconic spot.
