Bring your dinosaur building and crafting skills to Queensland Museum Rail Workshop’s school holiday program.
Dinosaurs didn’t leave us with selfies, we recreate how they appeared by looking at fossils and other living creatures.
Let your imagination run wild with our science-based, creative dinosaur activities - suitable for all ages and abilities. Activities on daily, no bookings required.
Build Jigasarus, the giant dinosaur:
Meet Jigasarus, our giant model dinosaur that needs many hands to help piece it together and recreate how it might have looked tens of thousands of years ago.
Try the Designo-sarus challenge:
Unleash your creativity to craft your own mini-dino. Using the materials provided, build your own Scraposaurus to take home, using a mix of science and creative inspiration to design your own dinosaur.
Stand Tall against the biggest of them all:
Just how tall are you compared to Queensland’s prehistoric inhabitants? Stand next to the replica fossil leg of the Muttaburrasaurus and see how you measure up against this 8 metre long giant.
Pyjama Party - Snuggle in for Storytime:
Discover ancient lands and the creatures that roamed them with dinosaur storytime in the Relaxing Room. Pyjama Parties are on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school holiday, starting at 1pm.
These events are ticketed, view our event pages below below to secure your place.
Please note, opening hours for general admission to the museum is 9:30am – 4pm.
