Teachers and students, get ready to experience the world of electricity, machines, and motion in real-time with Questacon Presents: ZAP! CLANK! POW!. This engaging, hands-on exhibition features 17 interactive exhibits designed to bring STEM concepts to life through exploration, experimentation, and play.

The exhibition is divided into three exciting zones:

  • ZAP – While electricity powering our lights, computers, and TVs are what we think of first, electricity is so much more! Discover how electricity powers our everyday lives as it creates – and is created by – magnetic fields, how we put electricity to work in different circuits, and even how electricity can create plasma in the air.
  • CLANK – Every day we use machines and technology to make our lives easier. Many of the complicated machines that we use every day – like cars, clocks, washing machines and photocopiers – are the combination of many simple machines working together. Your class will get to explore pulleys and levers, solve problems with gears and cams and be inspired by the mechanics behind how things are built and function.
  • POW – Things don't move on their own. From the swirling motions of stars in a galaxy through to the bounce of a basketball, and down to the microscopic jostling of air molecules around us – forces are what make everything in the universe move! Bring your class to get hands-on and embrace fun as they learn about the physics of motion and interaction.

Aligned with STEM learning outcomes, ZAP! CLANK! POW! inspires critical thinking and curiosity, encouraging students to think like scientists, engineers, and inventors.
