All ages
Queensland to a T dishes the dirt on the qualities that made tea towels desirable Queenslandiana and how we see them now. Featuring 100 tea towels from the State Library of Queensland's Glenn R. Cooke Souvenir Textile Collection, this is a unique look into Queensland’s culture and identity.
The humble tea towel can be many things to many people –decorative décor, cherished souvenir, stylised reminder of a treasured time. Not only that, this exhibition also reflects the state's changing ideas and interests - and the stubborn longevity of some stereotypes.
So, soak up history and all things nostalgic and memorable while you reminisce, remember and see what comes out in the wash.
Entry to Queensland to a T is included with museum admission. Admission to the museum is free for Annual Pass holders.
