Australian War Memorial Box Loans

Engage in hands-on learning about wartime service and experiences with AWM Memorial Boxes. These engaging learning resources contain a range of real and replica uniforms, equipment and artefacts that can be used to invigorate classroom lessons, inspire historical investigation, and add meaning to commemorative activities.

The Boxes

There are four different Memorial Boxes available, each corresponding to different conflicts or aspects of wartime experience and aligned with the Australian Curriculum areas of History and Civics and Citizenship.

  • Australia in the First World War - Memorial Box 1
  • Australia in Wartime and Peacekeeping Operations since 1946 - Memorial Box 2
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wartime service - Memorial Box 3
  • Australia in the Second World War - Memorial Box 4

Details about the contents of each box are available on the Australian War Memorial website.
