Book in for our facilitated school program Introduction to Queensland Museum Rail Workshops where students learn about the history of the museum, including its origins as the Ipswich Railway Workshops.
Program overview
Explore the history and stories of the Ipswich Railway Workshops and the people who worked there in this facilitated school program. Engage in guided discussions about the significance of the Ipswich Railway Workshops and the types of work that took place at the site over time. The program is also accompanied by a self-guided 'scavenger hunt' that will encourage your students to think critically and explore museum objects, little and large. The 'scavenger hunt' activity sheet will be emailed to you ahead of your visit.

- observe, identify and interpret objects and sites to find answers or elicit further questions
