The Ipswich Railway Workshops was an essential part of Queensland Railways. Generations of blacksmiths, carpenters, painters, metalworkers and other craftsmen built and repaired locomotives, wagons, carriages and railmotors.
Come and find out about some of the people of the Ipswich Railway Workshops and discover some of its varied trades and products.
Things to see and do:
- Watch a video about the historic site and learn about the many different buildings and personal stories of workers.
- See patterns used for casting various locomotive parts and fittings for machinery.
