Journey back to the 90s dancefloor on this guided tour through fashion, pop culture and lived experiences from the LGBTQIA+ community. Expect behind the scenes insights on the exhibition’s development and the real-life stories that shaped it, as Christopher illuminates key moments from this significant period of Brisbane’s history.
Find yourself surrounded by extraordinary pieces from the museum’s costume and fashion collections and significant loans from cultural institutions and artists including Darren Hayes and Kylie Minogue.
Make a Scene is a space of safety and inclusion – everyone with an open heart and mind is welcome on our exhibition dancefloor and Curator's Tour. Love and respect never go out of style!
Accessibility
This exhibition aims to recreate the feel of a ’90s dance floor with music, lighting effects and reflective surfaces. Low lighting has also been used to promote the preservation of textile and paper objects throughout the exhibition.
