Step into a world of wonder with Mini Museum Explorers, our early learning program designed for curious minds aged 3 to 5 years. Children will have the opportunity to touch and explore real museum objects, engage in STEM inspired activities and participate in stories, songs and movement-based play in a fun and social learning environment.

Ancient Egypt
We're bringing history to life for our youngest learners! Explore Ancient Egypt with storytelling, hands-on activities, and interactive play. From building pyramids to discovering hieroglyphs, your child will embark on a magical journey through time—learning while having fun. Perfect for curious minds and young adventurers.

Archaeological Dig
Calling all little archaeologists! Join us for an exciting dig for artefacts from long ago in these Mini Museum Explorers sessions. With brushes, tools, and lots of curiosity, children will uncover buried treasures—old toys, tools, coins, and more! As they discover each item, they’ll explore what it was used for and who might have used it, sparking stories, questions, and wonder about life in the past.

Learning From Objects
These Mini Museum Explorer sessions invite young learners to explore objects and artefacts from the past through hands-on discovery and playful learning. Children will handle and observe items used long ago encouraging curiosity and conversation. Through stories, sensory play, and creative activities, they’ll begin to understand how people lived, worked, and played in the past, making connections between then and now in a fun and age-appropriate way.

- Program content is designed for ages 3 to 5 years.
- Sessions are free.
- Participants and carers require a ticket. Babies in arms do not require a ticket.
- All children must be actively supervised by their carer at all times.
- On arrival, check the signage in the Queensland Museum Kurilpa Level 2 foyer for the session location.
