As the 2025 Young Australian of the Year, Lecturer in Chemical Process Engineering at QUT, and founder of Nguki Kula Green Labs, Katrina Wruck pioneers green chemistry solutions that weave circularity principles from Traditional knowledges with Eurocentric science. Her research focuses on sustainable chemical innovation, reverse engineering nature's chemistry to address pressing environmental challenges such as contamination by "forever chemicals".
Join Katrina as she shares her remarkable journey from overcoming challenges in school to becoming a nationally recognised STEM leader – showing how young people can harness science and innovation to drive impact, reshape industries, and build a cleaner future.
This event is presented as part of World Science Festival Brisbane (WSFB) 2026. Entering its 11th year, WSFB invites you to dive into the interconnected worlds that make up our magnificent universe, from 20 – 29 March.
