Ryan McNaught, aka “Brickman” is one of the world’s leading LEGO® brick artists and the only LEGO® Certified Professional (LCP) in the southern hemisphere. In 2019, Ryan took on the role of judge and LEGO® expert on Australia’s award-winning TV show, LEGO® Masters Australia, which just completed its fifth season – Grand Masters.
Ryan and his team of highly skilled LEGO® brick model builders and craftspeople at The Brickman have built some of the largest and most detailed LEGO® brick models in the world. With a growing portfolio of work, eight globally touring exhibitions and hundreds of models in museums, galleries, and shopping locations worldwide; there really isn’t anything The Brickman team can’t make out of LEGO® bricks.

Brickman Cities: Build the Future showcases some of the world’s most iconic cities and explores their history through the medium of LEGO® bricks.
This exhibition is an immersive experience, focussed on learning through play. The centrepiece is an impressive 3m x 4m 1:600 scale model of Lower Manhattan built entirely out of white LEGO® bricks. Circling Manhattan there are four more great cities of the world: London, Tokyo, Dubai, and Sydney!
Each city is represented with three huge skyscrapers showcasing three different stages of their history, from 1000AD up to the present day and shows how each city has evolved and grown. Part wow factor, part educational, Brickman Cities took over 1,500 hours to build and uses over 900,000 LEGO bricks.
Brickman Cities features multiple hands-on activities in the exhibition supported by downloadable learning resources available for teachers to use with their students, designed for pre- and post- visit learning and exploration. Don’t miss out on bringing your class to the educational, imaginative and immersive world of Brickman Cities at Queensland Museum Tropics from 9 March - 27 October.
