In this activity, students explore the chemical composition of minerals by playing the game Mineral Madness. Mineral Madness is based on the card game ‘Rummy’ and follows a similar style of play. Within Mineral Madness, students identify the chemical formula of varied minerals, before using a periodic table and element cards to form their minerals.
