David Brill AM .ACS has become one of Australia’s most renowned cinematographers after being on the frontline covering the world’s greatest tragedies and bloody wars from the last 50 years.
Capturing historic moments including the fall of the Soviet Union, the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, wars in Vietnam, the Gulf and the Falklands; he’s helped negotiate the release of prisoners under Saddam Hussein, been posted to Central America in conflicts that nearly cost him his life, as well as places we may have heard about from the safety of our lounge rooms.
Join David in the Museum of Tropical Queensland’s theatre for screenings of Good Morning Vietnam and Desert Dust: On Patrol With Australian Troops in Iraq. Discover the stories from behind the lens with David, hosted by ABC Journalist Siobhan Heanue. Siobhan was previously the ABC's South Asia correspondent, where she reported from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nepal covering battles, terrorist attacks and humanitarian crises.
Afterwards, take the opportunity to join David and Siobhan on a small group tour of the Action! Film & War exhibition.
