Swinging Into Action! is a one-of-a-kind event that will take you back in time during this adults-only evening, combining swing dancing nostalgia with 1940s music, wartime history, and themed canapes.
Arrive on the red carpet in your 1940s garb, ready for the evening. Meet two special guests - award-winning cinematographer David Brill AM .ACS and Australian War Memorial curator Daniel Eisenberg and see Australia's first ever Academy Award® for the documentary, Kokoda Front Line!
View a special screening of the award-winning 1942 documentary and learn about the cameraman behind the lens before discovering highlights of the Action! Film & War exhibit in small group tours, lead by David and Daniel.
Get into the sound of the 1940s brought to you by Townsville’s 1RAR band, enjoy a professional swing dancing demonstration and lesson, ready to swing the rest of the evening away.
This is an 18+ event with limited capacity. Bookings essential. Our events are cashless, EFTPOS only. Please note that food and drink are not permitted to be consumed within the exhibition. Ticketholders will be contacted closer to the event time regarding dietary requirements.
