Unleash your inner artist and be part of a large-scale collaborative art installation by Ghost Net Collective at Queensland Museum Tropics. Immerse yourself in educational weaving workshops, where techniques are taught and reflect on what the reef means to you.
Weave, create and reflect: Coral Chronicles is a journey of artistic expression and sustainability advocacy, where discarded nets find new life.
We encourage participants to contribute the pieces created in these sessions to our collaborative artwork created by the community throughout the program.
All skill levels are welcome, however, the workshops are unsuitable for children under 6 years.
9:30am session: This shorter 60-minute session will focus on simple weaving techniques and is ideal for younger audiences and accompanying adults. Recommended for ages 6-10 years.
11am session: This 90-minute session is ideal for audiences 10 + who would like some extra time in their weaving session and will focus on intermediate weaving skills.
Cost: Free
Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Non participating carers and babies in arms do not require a ticket.
