Celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025 with a Powerful, Hands-On Cultural Experience

2025 theme: The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy

This NAIDOC Week, we honour 50 years of celebrating Indigenous strength, resilience, and storytelling. The 2025 theme invites us to look ahead—to the next generation of leaders—while recognising the legacy that lights the way.

We invite you and your students to join us at the museum as we combine NAIDOC Week and National Science Week for a community-led program designed to enrich your student’s learning, appreciation and perspective of First Nations history and culture through hands-on activities and meaningful dialogue.

Wednesday 6 August & Thursday 7 August
Wulgurukaba Walkabouts
Students will connect with First Nations culture through art, dance, storytelling and hands-on experiences that deepen understanding and appreciation.
This half-day or full-day program is aimed at students in grade four and above.

  • Aboriginal Art & Storytelling – Learn how visual symbols tell powerful cultural stories. Students will create their own artworks using traditional storytelling principles.
  • Traditional Dance – Explore the role of dance in ceremony and storytelling. Students will learn symbolic movements and be invited to express their own stories through a blend of traditional and contemporary dance.
