Recommended for ages 0-5 years
Our littlest learners and their carers are invited to join us for a short series of special activities. From getting hands-on with real museum objects and specimens, to exploring our galleries and collections through songs, stories and role-play, this program is designed to enhance children’s learning and development.
Please note, each session has a 40-person capacity. Be quick as spaces are limited!
Tickets to Little Learners sessions are required for all participating children and their carers. Babes in arms do not require a ticket.
Tuesday 14 & Thursday 16 February – Fantastic Frogs
Learn about Queensland’s beautiful frogs, make your own frog mask, and leap into song!
Location: Wild State, Level 4.
Tuesday 21 & Thursday 23 February – Magic Hats
Join in with a story, explore hats from the museum’s collection, make your own hat, and hunt for hats through the gallery.
Location: Anzac Legacy Gallery, Level 1.
Tuesday 28 February & Thursday 2 March – Feeling Fishy
Make your own fish or underwater goggles, join in the singing and dancing, and explore the ocean in Wild State.
Location: Wild State, Level 4.
Tuesday 7 March & Thursday 9 March – Kangaroo Hop
Learn about these famous marsupials, join in the story, and make your own hopping kangaroo.
Location: Discovery Centre, Level 4.
Tuesday 14 March & - Thursday 16 March – Butterflies: From egg to elegance
Learn about the life cycle of butterflies through reading, movement activities and investigation of specimens, then make your own fluttering butterfly.
Location: Foyer, Level 2.
