Queensland Museum Kurilpa inspires curiosity and deepens learning beyond the classroom. Our specially designed school programs, hands-on STEM experiences, and world-class exhibitions bring the curriculum to life. Students will explore Queensland's rich biodiversity, natural heritage, history, culture and STEM, in ways that spark discovery, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Bookings are essential for school group visits. Minimum numbers apply. Please book early to secure preferred times.

Changes to payment process in 2027
Queensland Museum is changing the way schools pay for excursions. Full payment will now be required six weeks before your visit to secure your booking. If you book within six weeks of your excursion date, payment will be required immediately.
Notice of cancellation
Cancellations made within two weeks of the excursion date will incur a $90 administration fee, which will be deducted from any refund payable.
All cancellations must be made in writing to education@qm.qld.gov.au.
No. Refunds are not provided for reduced numbers. You will be invoiced based on the final numbers confirmed, or the minimum chargeable number (10 students for exhibitions, or 20 for facilitated programs), whichever is greater.
We will do our best to accommodate additional students; however, this depends on capacity availability – please check with our Bookings Officer before your visit. Any additional students will be charged, and an additional invoice will be issued.
Yes. You may move your booking to another date in the same calendar year if you provide at least 6 weeks’ notice.
